Tyra Leclercq
BCYC, Addiction Counsellor
With over a decade of experience in the human services field, Tyra brings a deeply compassionate and trauma-informed approach to her work. Her career has spanned diverse roles supporting marginalized and underserved communities, including supporting at-risk youth in group homes, working in women’s shelters, providing housing support for unhoused individuals, and delivering workshops for criminalized and vulnerable populations through the Elizabeth Fry Society. Most recently, she has worked as a Career Coach, supporting newcomers to Canada and underemployed individuals in building meaningful and sustainable futures.
Tyra is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She approaches her practice with a strong belief in meeting people exactly where they are – without judgment and with genuine empathy. Addiction and recovery have been a consistent thread throughout her work, and she believes that healing becomes possible when individuals are met with the right supports.
Known for her warmth, genuine-ness, and relational approach, Tyra builds trust through authentic connection. Her work is grounded in the belief that everyone is the expert of their own lives, and that with the right conditions, people can reconnect with their own strength, resilience, and potential.
