Dr. Lovneet Hayer

Dr. Lovneet Hayer is a Psychiatrist and Addiction Medicine Physician dedicated to advancing care for individuals with addiction and mental health challenges. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta, his Medical Degree at the University of Calgary, and his Psychiatry Residency at the University of Toronto, with a dedicated focus on Addiction Psychiatry during his final year. Dr. Hayer holds the designation of Addiction Specialist through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Hayer is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Alberta, where he serves as the addiction academic lead for the Psychiatry Residency Program. He plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of psychiatrists through curriculum development and clinical supervision in addiction medicine.
At Brick House Recovery Centre, Dr. Hayer brings a wealth of experience in addiction psychiatry. His compassionate, evidence-based approach focuses on treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions to support long-term recovery.
Dr. Hayers dedication to excellence in patient care and education has been widely recognized. He was awarded the 2018 Patient Experience Award by the Health Quality Council of Alberta, named the 2019 Subspecialty Teacher of the Year by the Department of Psychiatry and received the prestigious Dr. Randy Zbuk Royal Alexandra Hospital On-Call Supervisor Award in 2022.
