Shamaila Mir is a compassionate Addictions Counsellor, with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. With over five years of experience in the field, she has supported individuals across diverse ages and backgrounds, including vulnerable older adults and clients navigating complex substance use and mental health concerns.
Shamaila’s practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, client-centered approach. She works with empathy and understanding, creating a therapeutic space rooted in safety, respect, and empowerment. Clients consistently experience her as warm, approachable, and deeply attuned to their needs. She integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to provide individualized support that honours each person’s story, strengths, and lived experience. Her work is guided by a strong commitment to compassion, dignity, and the belief that every individual has the capacity for change and healing.
Fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi, Shamaila offers accessible and culturally responsive counselling to individuals from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, fostering deeper connection and trust.
