BA, MSW
Melissa Ritchie is a therapist with a Master of Social Work (Clinical Specialization) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has over fifteen years of experience in the mental health and addictions field and brings a wealth of experience both personally and professionally, having worked in residential treatment facilities, health care settings, and with forensic populations.
With over fifteen years of personal recovery, Melissa offers a depth of empathy and understanding that extends beyond formal training. Her work focuses on helping clients heal from trauma — including attachment, intergenerational, and complex trauma — while learning the skills to support lasting recovery from addiction. She also works closely with the families and loved ones of those struggling with addiction, helping them understand, cope, and rebuild healthy connections through education, boundaries, and emotional support.
Central to Melissa’s approach is building a safe, healing relationship where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change. Her work is goal-focused and direct, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Melissa values honesty, collaboration, and humour in the work — bringing her passion for helping others into every interaction.
